- Dong Jielin, Ph.D., is an associate professor and member of the academic committee of the Research Center for Technological Innovation of Tsinghua University, and an associate researcher at the China Institute for Science and Technology Policy (CISTP) of Tsinghua University. She is also a columnist for several international media agencies. Her recent research focus is the history of technological innovation. Over the past five years, Dr. Dong published 12 papers in this field in Chinese and international academic journals, as well as approximately 100 articles in popular media. She has many years of experience working as a researcher and manager in the U.S. technology and financial industries and in leading American high-tech companies. She has rich experience in fields such as high-tech product development and management, M&A, and marketing and sales management. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Sun Yat-sen University in 1982. In that same year she passed the China-U.S. Physics Examination and Application (CUSPEA) exam, which was co-created by the Chinese-American physicist Tsung-Dao Lee. She went on to study in the U.S. in 1988 and received her Ph.D in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University.
